DOOR PANEL consists of a 46" door frame and door. The frame incorporates inside vapor-proof light with wiring and switch with pilot light; remote bulb, vapor-tension thermometer (-40 deg. F. 60 deg. F.) and heater (with control) to eliminate condensation or frost.

The door is equipped with a flexible self-sealing magnetic gasket, heavy duty, spring loaded, cam lift, chrome hinges for providing permanent alignment, aluminum handle with inside safety release and a double wiper gasket (easily replaceable) across the bottom.

The door panel (46" wide to mate with corresponding floor and ceiling panels) provides a clear opening of 34" x 75". During assembly of unit at factory, door and door frame are carefully mated to assure perfect and permanent alignment.

*Standard heights in walk-in coolers and freezers with floors are 7' 6 " and 8' 6". Standard heights in floorless walk-in coolers and freezers are 7' 3" and 8' 3" (Other heights available on request. )

Southern Stainless provides a foamed-in place, flexible vinyl gasket that extends around the interior and exterior perimeter of each male edge. Our gaskets are not glued or stapled and are resistant to oil, grease, water and detergents.

Panels consist of interior and exterior metal skins precisely die formed and gauged for uniformity in size. The insulation shall be foamed-in-place urethane and form four inches of insulation. All panels have foamed-in-place tongue and groove with locking facilities foamed-in-place at time of fabrication.
FLOOR PANELS are identical in size and shape to ceiling. Standard interior finish is diamond plate. Maximum floor load = 500 pounds per square foot.

 

 

ADVANTAGES OF FOAMED URETHANE INSULATION

Foamed Urethane insulation is well recognized as the material giving best value for insulation of all types of coolers and freezers. For that reason it is used in t he walk-in coolers and freezers manufactured by Southern Stainless Equipment Company.

SUPERIOR INSULATING PROPERTIES. "K" factor of foamed Urethane (.156) is one-half or less of that of conventional insulation materials - saves space while providing better insulation.

STRUCTURAL STRENGTH, RIGIDITY. Urethane foamed-in-place between metal skins cures into a rigid core tightly adherent to the metal surfaces. The resulting composite structure eliminates the need for auxiliary support in most common cooler/ freezer sizes; therby eliminating both the cost and insulation losses associated with such supports. You are also assured that the insulation does not sag or settle - but stays in place.

CFC FREE. Our Urethane is CFC free which makes it safer for the environment than conventional insulation materials.

MOISTURE RESISTANCE. Density of approximately 97% closed cells eliminates moisture absorption problems.

LIGHT WEIGHT. Foamed Urethane density of less than 2.4 pounds per cubic foot results in less weight - saves freight and handling costs; light weight door opens/ closes with ease.
